Biography:Ben is a Lecturer within the School of Computer Science and member of the Lincoln Social Computing (LiSC) Research Centre at the University of Lincoln. Since 2006 he led the research in Social Games within the major EU PASION project on social technologies, in collaboration with 17 partner organisations and universities around Europe. Previously, as a consultant, Ben designed and developed playful technologies and games for a range of clients; including the Centre for Public Health, the Merseyside Police, BBC Jam, BBC Big Screen projects and numerous start-up businesses across the North West UK.

The Lincoln Social Computing (LiSC) Research Centre was set up in 2006. We are located on the University of Lincoln’s £100million+ Brayford Pool campus. The Centre is focused on how society and individuals interact with technology and the impact such interactions have. We are a mix of academic and research staff and PhD students from a variety of backgrounds including engineering & robotics, behavioural, cognitive and developmental psychology, human computer interaction, games design and computer science. Recent grant income is from sources such as the EU Framework and Lifelong Learning (Leonardo) programmes, Microsoft Research, SPARC and EPSRC.
