CosmeticBusiness 2023: Countdown to the Top Event in the Cosmetics Industry Begins

Focus on Trends and Sustainable Product Solutions

From 14 to 15 June in Munich, CosmeticBusiness will provide exclusive opportunities for the cosmetics industry to meet with its suppliers. At this international trade show, over 400 exhibitors and represented companies from more than 20 countries will be displaying a wide range of products and services covering the entire supply chain. Decision-makers from the cosmetics industry can expect plenty of inspiration from large numbers of new exhibitors and start-ups, the theme routes and the Spotlight novelty show as well as a rich conference programme on industry trends and innovations.

CosmeticBusiness, the international trade show of the cosmetics supplying industry, offers an impressive selection of exhibits in the areas of ingredients, manufacturing and packaging. In comparison to last year's event, the number of exhibitors and represented companies has increased by 20 per cent to a total of over 400. One in three exhibitors comes from abroad, with particularly high numbers attending from Austria, China, France, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Comprehensive Industry Expertise From Ingredients to Packaging

Product developers can look forward to a wide range of new and innovative ingredients being showcased by established manufacturers in Hall 2 as well as start-ups in the Innovation Corner in Hall 4. A total of 140 exhibitors and represented companies - over 30 per cent more than last year - will display their products at the trade show, including numerous first-time exhibitors. Exhibits range from active ingredients and fragrances to oils, fats and natural extracts.

Some 100 exhibitors specialising in private label and contract manufacturing will be showcasing their services from skincare and colour cosmetics to perfume. In Hall 3, visitors can benefit from the vast expertise of exhibitors specialising in manufacturing and services.

CosmeticBusiness also offers a broad overview of packaging trends and plenty of inspiration for sustainable packaging. 170 exhibitors and represented companies will be demonstrating their innovative solutions for material conservation at the international trade show, as well as new packaging materials, circular economy solutions and concepts for packaging reuse. Once again, it is clearly apparent that sustainability has become a powerful driver of packaging innovation.

Inspirational Innovation Corner with Start-ups and Novelty Show

The first port of call for anyone interested in new products is the Innovation Corner in Hall 4. Exhibitors' innovations take the spotlight at the well-established Spotlight novelty show. Start-ups will also be in the Innovation Corner to present their fresh ideas and solutions for the cosmetics industry. Furthermore, selected items will be introduced in more detail at lectures. Innovations include exciting new ingredients for cosmetics products, formulations and sustainable packaging concepts.

Sustainability Is the Main Focus of the Conference Programme

Alongside product presentations by exhibitors and start-ups, the conference will examine a wide variety of topics including market and consumer behaviour trends, analysis of the current zeitgeist and trending colours, and regulatory news. Here, too, sustainability is the core issue. For example, Andrea Dahm is responsible for sustainability and brand management at Primavera and will be giving a talk entitled "True Circular Economy for Cosmetics Packaging" about how the aromatherapy and natural cosmetics company is actively pushing for a deposit system for cosmetics packaging.

Sebastian Wölke, co-founder of the dm cooperation brand 'no planet b' aims to show that upcycling can be implemented in mass markets in his talk called "Upcycling for the Mass Market – with 'no planet b'". He will report on opportunities and challenges posed by upcycled ingredients.

As the industry heads towards true circular economies, packaging companies are increasingly coming under pressure to consider recyclability in their packaging designs right from the start. On the second day of the show, consultancy company Quantis will provide answers for how to use ecodesign as a planning tool to help reduce carbon footprints while boosting profit.

Full details of the conference programme and specific presentations can be found on the CosmeticBusiness website.

Contact Point for Start-Ups and Indie Brands

CosmeticBusiness offers young companies and indie brands numerous opportunities to boost the success of their market entry. The Exhibitor and Product Directory now has a filter called "start-up friendly" to enable a targeted search for exhibitors that are specifically interested in start-ups and indie brands. These exhibitors can offer newcomers services such as small batch sizes and help them find the ideal partner to make their ideas a reality.

The conference programme also offers industry expertise for newcomers. At the talk on "Safe Navigation as a Start-up in the Cosmetics Industry", Pfeiffer Consulting will be delving into the topic of legal regulations for cosmetics manufacturers.

Detailed Trade Show Planning

The exhibitor and product directory as well as the CosmeticBusiness App have filters to help visitors plan their visit. Various filters for product groups and topics can be used to conduct a targeted search for exhibitors.

The themed routes at CosmeticBusiness also lead visitors directly to exhibitors offering similar products and services in a specific category. The Innovation Route takes them to exhibitors with innovations at the Spotlight novelty show. Along the Green Route, they can find stands offering particularly sustainable products and services.
