Leipziger Messe joins expo PetroTrans Trade Fair

Leipzig has expanded its trade fair portfolio and is developing its business as an organiser at other trade fair locations

Leipziger Messe joins expo PetroTrans Trade Fair, which has been held every two years in Kassel since 2004. The trade fair for fuel logistics has established itself as an international business platform with steadily growing numbers of exhibitors and visitors as well as a growing exhibition area. In 2020, it will take place for the ninth time in Kassel from 1 to 3 October.

"With expo PetroTrans, we are expanding our trade fair portfolio to include a leading specialist event that fits in perfectly with our company", says Markus Geisenberger, Chief Executive Officer of Leipziger Messe. In addition to strong industrial trade fairs held on its own premises, Leipziger Messe is also a successful organiser of trade fairs at national and international trade fair venues. "AVR Messe- und Veranstaltung GmbH and planetfair GmbH + Co KG, the organisers of expo PetroTrans, have successfully established an impressive trade fair. We will continue this work together." The 2020 event in Kassel will be organised in cooperation between the previous event organisers and Leipziger Messe. "We will continue to develop expo PetroTrans in close cooperation with exhibitors, the media and stakeholders."

"Until now, the focus of expo PetroTrans has been on the road transport of mineral oils. Next year, together with Leipziger Messe, we will expand the trade fair to include gas and liquid gas transport. Our previous discussions with the industry have been extremely positive and we are already looking forward to the first registrations of exhibitors from this sector", explains Ingo Klöver, Chief Executive Officer of planetfair GmbH + Co. KG, which has been organising the trade fair together with AVR Messe- und Veranstaltung GmbH.

"The reputation and competence of Leipziger Messe will contribute to the continued development of expo PetroTrans and increase its significance for exhibitors and trade visitors who, next year, will be able to see for themselves", adds Thomas Klocke, Chief Executive Officer of AVR Messe- und Veranstaltung GmbH.

expo PetroTrans brings together experts from the retail and freight forwarding sectors, leading companies and innovative newcomers to the industry. The exhibitors present tank trucks, special vehicles, superstructures, trailers and loading systems, services, software solutions and alternative fuels. In addition to the industrial exhibition, there will be a varied and practical accompanying programme with topics relating to logistics, transport and transhipment in the fuel industry. Furthermore, the industry newsletter published in conjunction with expo PetroTrans has established itself as an important information platform for manufacturers and retailers and highlights the importance of the trade fair.

With expo PetroTrans, Leipziger Messe is also expanding its expertise in the field of logistics. It has been organising the trade fair "Gefahrgut & Gefahrstoff," an industry platform for suppliers and users of products and services relating to the transport and intralogistics of hazardous substances, as well as safety in handling highly sensitive goods and substances since 2017.
