OTWorld 2026: Leipzig becomes the global meeting place for orthopaedic treatment and care [OTWorld]
From 19 to 22 May 2026, OTWorld will bring together the international orthopaedic treatment and care sector in Leipzig under the motto ‘You make the difference’. This year’s event is particularly special as OTWorld celebrates its 50th anniversary. Across three exhibition halls, more than 570 exhibitors from over 40 countries will showcase world premieres and innovations in prosthetics and orthotics, orthopaedic footwear technology, rehabilitation technology, compression therapy and digital manufacturing. At the same time, the World Congress will feature more than 300 speakers from over 30 countries, offering around 100 hours of concentrated expertise and setting new standards for international knowledge exchange – including AI-based live translation for the first time. More than 130 workshops and dedicated sessions on topics such as robotics and the treatment of neurological diseases will highlight how orthopaedic treatment and care are evolving worldwide.

OTWorld: A stage for real life changes [OTWorld]
This story is a prime example of what OTWorld – the world's leading trade show and international exhibition – will showcase in Leipzig from 19 to 22 May 2026: individualised orthopaedic treatment and care opens up new possibili-ties for people and improve their quality of life. Stephan Scherzer (61) has lived with complete foot drop since the age of 12. He has compensated for this limitation for many years through intensive sports. For a good four years now, he has been relying on a customised polymer orthosis from a 3D printer. Or-thopaedic technology specialists from Berlin and Rosenheim developed this unique device especially for him and demonstrate how the interplay of first-class skilled trades and modern technology enriches the orthopaedic treat-ment and care.

Rehabilitation as the key to orthopaedic treatment and care [OTWorld]
Rehabilitation plays a decisive role in determining how independently and actively people can live after illness, accident or surgery. OTWorld 2026 – from 19 to 22 May in Leipzig – is therefore placing a special focus on orthopaedic and trauma surgery rehabilitation in its World Congress and International Trade Show. Current figures underscore the relevance of this topic: according to the 2024 Rehabilitation Atlas published by the German Pension Insurance Fund, nearly 994,000 people received medical rehabilitation services in 2023. Around 352,000 of these cases were for orthopaedic indications alone, making this the largest single area of medical rehabilitation.
