CosmeticBusiness 2022 Proves Successful as the Leading Industry Get-Together

Perfect Conditions for Highly Qualified Project Meetings

CosmeticBusiness, the international trade show of the cosmetics supplying industry, is back on its regular schedule following a break due to the pandemic and an autumn edition in 2021. 326 exhibitors and represented companies from 26 countries presented their innovative products and services for the development, production and marketing of cosmetics products in three exhibition halls at the MOC in Munich.

"As organisers, we are very satisfied and can look back proudly on this 17th edition of CosmeticBusiness. Despite various challenges leading up to the trade show, this CosmeticBusiness went off very smoothly, seven months after the previous event," concludes Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "Compared to last year's show, we registered 54 more exhibitors in total. The frequency of contacts was good and their quality was very high. This also attracts new exhibitors and start-ups to CosmeticBusiness."

Greater International and Professional Variety

The event got off to an early positive start. Four months before CosmeticBusiness 2022, more exhibition space had been reserved than at last year's show. 326 exhibitors and companies covering the full spectrum of the cosmetics value chain were represented at this year's industry get-together. In the four show categories – Ingredients, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Service – exhibitors presented their newest products and solutions for the cosmetics industry across a total area of 11,000 m². CosmeticBusiness 2022 was also more international than the autumn event in 2021. Exhibitors travelled from 26 countries, including France, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands and Switzerland. In total, seven more countries were represented than even in 2021. Exhibitors this year came from additional countries such as Portugal, Sweden, Slovakia and South Korea.

Exhibitors Declare the Event a Success and Praise the Quality of Visitors

Exhibitors consider the event an overall success. According to a survey conducted by the independent market research firm Gelszus Messe-Marktforschung, 89 per cent of exhibitors felt their participation in the trade show had been successful, and 93 per cent plan to exhibit at CosmseticBusiness again next year. 94 per cent of respondents expect good post-fair business.

The level of professional qualification among visitors was praised especially highly by 98 per cent of respondents. The quality of contacts was also given top marks by 97 per cent of respondents. "The trade show fully met our expectations. We had very pleasant and profitable conversations at our booth throughout the event," says Frank Hahlbohm, Managing Director at Kurt Kitzing GmbH. "The team's professional and friendly service rounded off the event beautifully. We'll be back," he went on to add.

Patrick Semadeni, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Logo-Plastic AG agrees. "Everything worked beautifully, and we logged 15 per cent more conversations than in 2021. Overall, we are very satisfied with the outcome."

Jan Rudel, Head of Contract Manufacturing at dreiturm GmbH also had a positive assessment: "It's the mix that makes it so good. The mix of exhibitors from the ingredients, production, and packaging sectors makes the trade show especially attractive. The full spectrum of the industry is covered. CosmeticBusiness offers the opportunity to meet existing clients as well as giving us the chance to meet new clients in a familiar atmosphere."

Visitors Appreciate the Exchange and Strengthen Their Business Relationships

Visitors were very satisfied with CosmeticBusiness and 84 per cent of them considered their visit to the trade show worthwhile. The overwhelming majority (77 per cent) achieved their goals and went home satisfied. Nearly all of them (95 per cent) plan to visit CosmeticBusiness again next year. The same percentage would also recommend this well-established trade show to colleagues.

Top priorities on the agenda of visitors to the show included making and nurturing business contacts, conversing with business partners and informing themselves about innovations and trends. This year, one in four visitors came from a country other than Germany with Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, and Spain being particularly well represented. Altogether, trade visitors from 33 countries were in attendance.

Mathis Korn, Senior Marketing Manager at Dermatest GmbH also confirmed the in-depth exchange at this industry get-together. "We had a lot of exciting conversations at our booth – from potential new clients to existing clients, it was a very good mix. Some of the questions were quite granular, which shows what an industry-specific event CosmeticBusiness is. We were perfectly well-prepared for this with a number of our scientists on site. We look forward to returning next year with a larger booth."

"I am very pleased about the amazing response and all the praise from the industry. This feedback shows that CosmeticBusiness is the industry get-together in Germany. Here, we are creating the future of the largest cosmetics market in Europe. Decision-makers from development, purchasing, product management and marketing meet here to bring new product concepts to life," says Project Director Ivonne Simons. "The support from the exhibitors and visitors makes my team very proud of what we have achieved", she continues. "Now we are looking forward to further developing this industry get-together for next year, and will continue to keep our customers' goals firmly in view."

Focus on Industry Trends and Innovations

The event's motto, "Turn Trends into Business," was at the forefront of both the Spotlight novelty show and the conference programme, which focused on industry trends and exhibitor innovations. Sustainable product concepts, recyclable packaging and cost-saving potential dominated the range of topics. For the first time, CosmeticBusiness hosted a start-up area in the Innovation Corner. The "Meet the Start-Up" format also gave young companies in the cosmetics supplying industry the opportunity to present themselves to a broad industry audience and establish business contacts with cosmetics manufacturers.

The next CosmeticBusiness will be held at the MOC in Munich on 14 and 15 June 2023.
